Once constructed located west of existing Alice Pratt Brown Hall, the Rice University Music and Performing Arts Center will include an opera theater, audience chamber, 600-seat auditorium, 5,000-6,000 sqft stage and wings, an orchestra pit that will seat 70 people, new dressing and conductor's rooms, a musician’s lounge, a backstage green room, and state-of-the-art audio visual capabilities. The building is expected to open in July 2020.
