Stages at the Gordy

Houston, Texas

Founded in 1978, Stages Repertory Theatre has grown to become Houston’s sixth largest nonprofit performing arts producer, and the largest outside of the downtown theatre district. Stages at the Gordy incorporated an existing, 40,000 SF warehouse and a purpose-built addition. The new 66,825 SF, 608 seat facility includes three intimate performance spaces; The Sterling Stage, the Lester and Sue Smith Stage, and the Rochelle and Max Levitt Stage, which were all designed to bring audiences and artists closer to each other than ever before. In addition, rehearsal and education studios; full production and design workshops; meeting, event and shared community work spaces; and full administrative suites were added. State-of-the-art theatre technology was incorporated into the design giving patrons an immersive theatrical experience.
