Mongoose Versus Cobra

Houston, Texas

This popular craft beer garden was originally constructed in 1915 as grocery store, this building has a varied history, previously operating as a motor company/auto repair, a printing and stationary company, and a Post Office Branch. Having been vacant since the early 1980’s, the building fell into a serious state of disrepair until being resurrected by Ian Rosenberg of Infill Planning and Development. The transformation was quite dramatic and the efforts were rewarded with Preservation Houston’s 2013 Good Brick Award for excellence in historic preservation.
