Van Cliburn Concert Hall - Texas Christian University
Fort Worth, Texas
Named for the award-winning pianist and international icon, the 717-seat Van Cliburn Concert Hall at TCU has an acoustical volume similar to venues that have double to triple the seating capacity. The 2-story, 61,000 SF concert hall houses educational support spaces including a band rehearsal room, two percussion rooms, an orchestra rehearsal room, instructional facilities, and faculty studios. Each space contains carefully selected materials to create the perfect acoustic environment. The concert hall itself is a separate structure within the larger building so outside sound will not impact performances. The purpose of this building is to provide a dedicated space for the School of Music students to learn, rehearse, and perform such that TCU becomes a world-class school of music.
