This project involved the adaptive reuse of an existing 300,000 SF sports arena into a 16,000-seat sanctuary, a 9,000 SF bookstore, and a 30,000 SF education facility. The redevelopment also included a five-story, 300,000 SF classroom and administrative addition constructed over an existing street, requiring significant structural and systems coordination.
The sanctuary incorporates advanced theatrical lighting and broadcast infrastructure to support large-scale services, worldwide transmission, and a 250-person choir. Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems were engineered for high-occupancy assembly use and integrated media production environments. A new on-site central plant was installed, providing 2,400 tons of cooling capacity with expansion capability to 3,200 tons.
Lisa Osborne served as Lead Mechanical Engineer and Assistant Project Manager, overseeing building systems coordination and infrastructure integration during her tenure with her previous firm.
