The Fort Bend County Caleb Rule Public Safety Annex is a 16,800 SF, single-level facility designed to support law enforcement operations for the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office. Named in honor of fallen officer Caleb Rule, the annex is located near Flewellen Way and FM 1093 on a 2.84-acre greenfield site. It includes concrete parking, a helipad, a fuel station, and landscaping enhancements to create a well-integrated public safety hub.
The facility houses office spaces, conference rooms, a briefing room, locker rooms with showers, and a small holding area to accommodate the needs of officers on duty. Advanced lighting controls ensure energy efficiency, with occupancy/vacancy sensors and daylight sensing where required. The HVAC system is a split-DX VAV system with SFP terminal boxes, allowing for optimal zoning and climate control throughout the building. Designed by RDLR Architects, the project was completed in February 2022, with a construction cost of $3.1 million.
