New Hope Housing - Perry Street SRO is a single room occupancy (SRO) housing project designed to provide affordable, permanent housing for individuals living on very limited incomes. The facility consists of 160 fully-furnished efficiency apartments housed in several two-story buildings and is strategically located close to downtown Houston and METRO bus lines, ensuring convenient access to transportation.
Designed to support life stabilization, the housing project includes a wide array of support services aimed at enhancing residents' quality of life. Residents can enjoy communal spaces such as a TV lounge, living/dining rooms, a library, and a life skills training/business center. Coin-operated washer/dryer facilities and a fully-equipped kitchen available 24/7 further contribute to residents' convenience. An outdoor cooking facility set amid beautifully landscaped gardens offers a peaceful environment for relaxation and socializing.
The New Hope Housing - Perry Street SRO project achieved LEED BD+C: Homes v3 - LEED 2008 Platinum Certification, underscoring its commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly building practices. Designed by Val Glitsch, the facility is a model for affordable housing with integrated support services.
