The Woodlands First Baptist Church embarked on a transformative renovation and expansion to enhance its worship, education, and community spaces. The project included a complete sanctuary renovation, the conversion of an unused gym into 23,000 SF of new classroom space, and the construction of a 10,000 SF Great Hall. Additionally, a 4-level, 450-car parking garage was added to accommodate the church’s growing needs.
The renovated sanctuary’s seating capacity doubled to 1,200, providing ample space for larger congregations. The newly designed Great Hall serves as a centralized hub for church activities, hosting wedding receptions, large meetings, and community events. Designed in a Texas Hill Country style, it features an oversized fireplace, soft seating, Texas limestone accents, and wood interiors, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The Great Hall also acts as a connection point between the sanctuary, multi-purpose rooms, and parking structure, ensuring seamless accessibility.
Designed by Studio Red Architects and completed in 2015, this $12.2 million renovation and expansion project modernizes and expands The Woodlands First Baptist Church, reinforcing its role as a community-centered place of worship and gathering.
