William T. Cannady Hall at Rice University is a new 22,000 SF facility dedicated to expanding the Rice School of Architecture. Named after William T. Cannady, a renowned architect and professor emeritus, the building seamlessly connects to M.D. Anderson Hall via an elevated walkway, enhancing accessibility and integration within the architecture school.

Designed with functionality and versatility in mind, the hall features a two-story public gallery, serving as a dynamic venue for exhibitions, lectures, and community events. Adaptable teaching spaces allow for flexible configurations to support a wide range of courses and workshops, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Additionally, the state-of-the-art digital technology and fabrication shop, complete with a double-height installation area, provides students with advanced tools and resources for hands-on design and construction projects.

Designed by Karamuk Kuo in collaboration with Kendall/Heaton, William T. Cannady Hall is set for completion in August 2024, with a project budget of $14 million.
