The 112,000 SF expansion of Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business enhances and integrates with the existing McNair Hall to support growing undergraduate and graduate programs. The project introduces state-of-the-art classrooms, seminar and team learning rooms, faculty offices, dining areas, and collaborative breakout spaces designed to foster interaction, flexibility, and modern business education methodologies.

A defining feature of the expansion is the enclosure of the Woodson Courtyard and the addition of a new triple-height circulation spine that organizes movement and creates a dynamic interior volume within the facility. The design supports evolving pedagogical models, emphasizing teamwork, interdisciplinary engagement, and informal learning environments, while maintaining alignment with Rice University’s campus character and long-term master planning vision.
