The Alief Neighborhood Center, constructed by the City of Houston in the 37-acre Alief Park, is a $52 million, two-story building spanning 71,551 SF. It accommodates three city departments: Health and Human Services, Parks and Recreation, and the library. This multi-generational facility features a Women, Infant, and Child office on the first floor and the relocated Hennington-Alief Regional Library on the second floor. Notably, this center is the first of its kind in Houston, offering a wide range of services and amenities.
In addition to the departmental spaces, the center also includes various recreational facilities such as soccer fields, tennis courts, football fields, a baseball field, a skate park, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, an outdoor trail, an indoor track, a fitness center, an art garden, an outdoor pool, a playground, multipurpose rooms, an event lawn, and both outdoor and indoor meeting spaces, including unique staircase seating in the lobby.
