Cypress Circle Café was delivered as part of the first phase of the Houston Zoo’s 20-year campus master plan, supporting the reconfiguration of guest amenities and experiential zones that highlight wildlife and ecosystems from Texas and around the world.
The 10,000 SF café includes a 5,000 SF servery, 2,000 SF commercial kitchen, 2,400 SF indoor dining area, and 600 SF of restrooms, along with approximately 11,000 SF of covered outdoor seating (8,200 SF under an existing roof and 2,800 SF under a new shaded structure). The Green Restaurant Certified facility emphasizes locally sourced, sustainable food service operations and efficient back-of-house functionality.
Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems were designed to support high-volume commercial kitchen operations, energy-efficient performance, and a comfortable dining environment within a highly visited public venue.
