The Griffith Fine Arts Building at Stephen F. Austin State University has undergone a transformative expansion and renovation, more than doubling its size to 137,374 SF. This project includes a major renovation of Turner Auditorium, improving accessibility and MEP systems, while 67,905 SF of new construction introduces state-of-the-art performance and academic spaces.
The new addition features a 350-seat flexible theatre and an intimate black box theatre, providing versatile performance environments. It also serves as the new home for SFA’s filmmaking and dance programs, incorporating two dance studios, a recording studio, a sound stage, audio and video editing rooms, an art gallery, rehearsal facilities, and multiple classrooms. The building also houses faculty offices and the College of Fine Arts dean’s offices, making it a premier hub for artistic education and performance at SFA.
