Originally constructed in 1936 and designated as a historic landmark, La Colombe d’Or Hotel underwent a $10 million renovation to modernize the property while preserving its architectural character. Collaborative Engineering Group, in partnership with Paradigm Design, provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services to comprehensively upgrade aging infrastructure within the constraints of the protected structure.
The project included full replacement of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems while carefully maintaining existing plaster walls, finishes, and historic detailing. The first floor of the Mansion and adjacent hotel serve as the primary reception and hospitality space, featuring a reception living room, coffee and libations bar, and expanded full-service restaurant. The second floor houses five suites ranging from 470 to 721 SF, each updated with new lighting, bathrooms, and individualized heating and cooling systems.
