The 15,000 SF MetroNational Treehouse is a sustainable commercial office building designed as a collaborative workspace and tenant amenity destination. The first floor provides restaurant lease space, while the second floor functions as a flexible office, conference, and event environment.
Completed in 2014 with a $12 million construction budget, the building achieved dual LEED Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, ranking among the highest-performing LEED buildings in Texas at the time of completion.
Sustainability features include a geothermal heating and cooling system, rooftop solar photovoltaic array, wind turbine, vegetated roof, and high-efficiency lighting systems. These strategies reduce energy consumption to approximately 50% of a baseline office building and lower irrigation demand by 70%. Reclaimed and responsibly sourced materials were incorporated throughout, and interior spaces were designed for long-term flexibility.
Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems were engineered to integrate renewable energy generation, high-performance envelope strategies, and advanced energy efficiency measures into a cohesive building systems approach.
