Excellence in Historic Preservation
Originally constructed in 1915 as a grocery store, this historic building has served various roles, including an auto repair shop, printing company, and Post Office branch, before falling into serious disrepair in the 1980s. Infill Planning and Development, led by Ian Rosenberg, spearheaded the dramatic transformation, bringing new life to the structure while maintaining its historical integrity.
Now home to the popular craft beer garden, Mongoose Versus Cobra, the renovation restored original architectural elements while adapting the space for a modern bar experience. The project’s outstanding preservation efforts were recognized with Preservation Houston’s 2013 Good Brick Award for excellence in historic preservation.
