Project Budget$52,658,000
As part of the River Oaks Baptist School expansion in Houston, the project introduced a 90,000 SF middle school for grades 5-8, designed with dedicated spaces for each grade level. The building houses innovative learning environments, including Blue Box and Maker Spaces, Science Labs, a Robotics Lab, and outdoor teaching terraces.
Energy efficiency was a key design element, with the incorporation of high-efficiency air-cooled chillers, individual metering of lighting and power, energy recovery units, and day-lighting controls, all intended to serve as practical teaching tools for students. Additionally, the project features a two-level Administration Building with underground parking capable of accommodating 190 cars.
The project was completed in Fall 2020, with a total budget of $52.7 million, and demonstrates the school’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in its expansion.
