The Van Cliburn Concert Hall at Texas Christian University (TCU) is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to the university's School of Music. With a seating capacity of 717, this 61,000 SF concert hall offers an acoustic environment that rivals venues with much larger capacities. The hall features a two-story design that includes band rehearsal rooms, two percussion rooms, an orchestra rehearsal room, and various instructional facilities and faculty studios, all equipped with carefully selected materials to optimize sound quality.
The concert hall itself is a separate structure within the larger building, ensuring that outside noise will not affect the acoustics during performances. The facility is designed to serve as a dedicated space where School of Music students can learn, rehearse, and perform, contributing to TCU’s reputation as a world-class music school.
This project, completed in 2022 with a $36 million budget, is LEED Certified, demonstrating a commitment to sustainability alongside world-class acoustics.
